Studio Instructor (Contract)

We are looking for enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructors to teach our one-time, 6-week beginner pottery classes as well as possible summer camps for kids 13-17.

Qualifications:

• General knowledge of ceramics and studio operations.
• Able to lift 25lbs.
• Have experience teaching ceramics (primarily wheel throwing) to different age groups.
• Skilled in wheel throwing, hand-building, trimming, glazing and surface design.
• Familiarity with loading and unloading kilns.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare materials for class
• Provide clear instruction and demonstration 
• Help students during class time
• Manage student pieces throughout the ceramic process
• Assist students in clean up
• Remind students of studio etiquette and safety guidelines
• Load and unload kilns as needed

Studio Staff (Part-Time)

Qualifications:

• General knowledge of ceramics and studio operations.
• Able to lift 25lbs.

Responsibilities:

• Answer general information to studio guests and members.
• Able to conduct studio facilities tour and safety tour
• Respond to emails
• Have good knowledge of classes, memberships, and other studio events
• Act as host for visitors, students, members and guests
• Update website / studio management software as instructed
• Making sure the studio environment is clean and safe for everyone.
• Remind guests to follow studio guidelines and to clean
• Assist instructors, technicians and managers as needed
